Last memories is a short film I created during my exchange program. During my exchange at Tokyo University of the Arts, I met students from various cultural backgrounds and was influenced by the Japanese culture of “Ichigo Ichie” , which emphasizes the uniqueness of each encounter. This led me to create a documentary about “farewells.”

In this work, I interviewed people from different linguistic backgrounds and recorded their deep impressions of moments of saying “goodbye.”

For me, farewells are one of the most difficult themes to face in life. Through the stories of people sharing their unforgettable farewell experiences, I reflected on how to confront universal themes such as eternal farewells and the small, everyday separations in life. Through repeatedly experiencing “goodbyes,” I began to feel that the sadness of parting gradually lightened.
